There once was a Bard who followed a Knight
Seeking to find inspiration to write
For his songs, let’s just say, were not the best.
Though his name was Bard, his talent was slim
And rhyming a skill he had not within him.
Yet, he caught a break when he joined in a quest.
On this risky adventure, inspiration struck
And he blessed his muse for this great stroke of luck.
He began composing this unfinished poem
For although motivation would see it completed
The composer was unfortunately defeated
Before its completion, poor Bard turned to stone.
His unfinished song is here now, below,
In memory of Bard and the quest long ago…
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ebon wings and eyes too wise, led us to almost certain demise
More than a crow, Ambria, our guide.
On a quest of importance and consequence grave
Came Andor of Ryldor, the Great Moose brave
And sweet Princess Lyral, his future bride.
And Caesophia, the thief most charming,
Whose ways and wiles were often alarming.
The wayward cook, Seira, and Fluffy, the drake
Completed the misbegotten quest.
Only Andor’s presence was not in jest
On a mission for the people’s sake.
Opposed to Accénan they bravely stood.
The mighty knight and followers good.
What lay ahead they did not know.
Darkling Mist trailed at their backs,
The first of the dark sorcerer’s attacks,
But they would not be bested by this foe.
Accénan did not give up with ease
To stop the heroes among the trees.
Corrupted nymph in poisoned lake
A powerful enemy she was to face
Murky waters were almost a burial place
If not for Lyral’s loyal drake.
Our heroes drew nearer night by night.
Their goal was soon to be in sight.
No spell or foe Accénan could name
Would turn these warriors back again.
Be it threat of death or pain.
